I am me … what shall I be? Part 2.2

FINISHED!!! Finally :D

Finishing this has made me very happy, firstly because I prefer working in 2D, and am actually better at making 3D things on screen rather than with white card. Secondly, it now means I can finally rest :)

I’ve been working non stop without proper break (niggling in the mind reminding me there’s work to be finished). Shame it’s only about a two week break before the onslaught of work begins again, rather than the near-two-months break that others have had.

This camera is based (albeit very roughly) on my Canon EOS 50D. I thought it would be a bit easier to make something and have a reference to work from in front of me.

As you can see my initial attempts were quite hilarious, the first was to find out a way of constructing a camera out of paper, the second was to figure out more accurate dimensions and drawings, and the final was, well – the final.

I’m glad to have finished and am pleased with the results as I did find the construction very difficult with fiddly tabs and hard-to-reach places. Oh and also trying not to get mucky sticky gluey hands on white card was very challenging.

Bring on year two.

I am me… what shall I be? Part 2.1

Hand rendered poster. DONE.

I wanted the typography to reflect its meaning, so for “zoom out” I made it so that if you wanted to see the entire word you would have to ‘zoom out’ to see it. The same with “focus”, in order to see it clearly you would need to ‘focus’ your camera lens.

Next up: making a 3D camera out of white card.
